New to LMU or simply (once again) looking for study spaces, e-books, etc.? The University Library is your central point of contact for everything related to your studies: literature, study spaces, online access, and advice—free of charge, uncomplicated, and close to LMU.
The University Library has many locations in Munich - right next to the LMU main building and additionally with 14 subject libraries (Fachbibliotheken) and various learning centers. This means that literature and study spaces are always close by. With the workspace finder, you can see available spaces in real time and easily reserve a workspace online.
With your LMU user ID, you have access to thousands of e-books, e-journals, and databases— from anywhere, around the clock, ideal for your flexible studies.
Printed books from the central magazine collection can be ordered from the online catalog for pickup at the LMU main building. Reference books and textbooks are available for loan directly from the shelves in the subject libraries (Fachbibliotheken). Your LMUcard also serves as your library card. Full access will only be activated once proof of address (German registration address) has been provided. To do this, submit your registration certificate online or visit the UB.info desk in person.
With your LMUcard, you can also use the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek, located in the immediate vicinity of Geschwister-Scholl-Platz. Here you will find additional collections, e-media, and workspaces.
